I truly believe that Bob is like another past politician. That was once said, if they shot someone, they would still be elected. I look for Bob to use the completion of the Crystal Beach renovation and the use of infrastructure dollars (which his party was against) to promote his next candidacy. So Bob will be pushing hard for the pool to be done in early 2023. Forgetting how much it's financing is costing local tax payers and the property still being in the flood zone.. For Bob, the ends will always justify the means. Bob will DO ANYTHING to be re-elected.

MADISON MAYOR BOB COURTNEY HAS ANNOUNCED HIS INTENT TO RUN FOR RE-ELECTION FOR MADISON'S MAYOR, HE WAS APPOINTED MAYOR OF MADISON IN OCTOBER OF 2019 AFTER THE UNTIMELY DEATH OF FORMER MADISON MAYOR DAMON WELCH IN NOVEMBER OF THAT SAME YEAR HE WAS OFFICIALLY ELECTED MAYOR OF THE CITY.

"The jail needs a formal investigation STAT.." This is a headline that could have been written during the tenures of True, Andrews, Wallace and now Thomas and the new guy. If anyone has a specific instance(s) of "illegal transactions", they should forward their documented proof of such to the ISP for a formal investigation.

The jail needs a formal investigation STAT.. the acting and still paid sheriff hasn’t showed up regularly since he lost in the primary election.. the sheriff elect has decided to keep and promote people who have ran the place into the ground.. they have started firing people who know about their indiscretions and illegal transactions.. in hopes of saving themselves.. PREA cases not investigated.. sexual harassment of employees by jail administration.. inmates not having basic needs met while they are making record profits..No mats to sleep on.. women not having underwear or pads.. they are walking women employees who have sense out the door in record numbers.. and the turnover over of numbskulls is around 2 months.. do not break any laws right now.. unless you want to die in a place with ZERO oversight..

I am definitely not an expert on the subject but it would seem to me that there is a difference between homeless and street people. I have been told previously that this couple received a government check, which would indicate that they have a mailing address of some sort.So perhaps they choose to live on the street. Married or not I don't know. Does it really matter in the grand scheme of things? Merry Christmas!

Yes, Kindness, why does it matter if the Comfort Station appropriators are living as husband or wife or anything else? Senior Citizen felt the need to make it clear we had a man and woman living as husband and wife, so I was clearly mocking their need to point that out. Cameras? Visit the Point Park in Carrollton. They have cameras monitoring the inside of their shelter houses. Do the same here. Place a couple on the inside of the Comfort Station. Catch if anyone is loitering in either place and hassling the public, doing dope or "fulfilling their wifely duties" while they think no one is watching.
The threat of being surveilled would go far in discouraging such activity for most, and for those it doesn't, provide video evidence so they can be charged.
As Mr. Warren said, they choose this because it allows them to be free of responsibility and obligates them to follow fewer rules. There are people in subsidized housing that have no income and probably less income than these two, but then they would need to clean up after themselves and pay a little rent, and why should they have to have any responsibility?
What kind of life is it to live under a shelter house or in the lobby of a public toilet? One can only speculate it must be one so focused on dope or booze that you don't notice.

@Concerning Circumstances, Why would it matter if the man and woman at the Main Street Comfort Station were married or friends, brother and sister, cousins or anything else?? All the Senior Citizen was trying to say was, why is the City allowing this to go on. All I'm trying to say as a person trying to live as a Christian, let's try and solve the problem. rather than splitting hairs about nothing, that in the end makes any difference. married or not.

You speak of video surveillance. Where exactly would you like these cameras to be placed? I have no problems with cameras showing who's coming and going from the outside. How would you propose location of camera's to catch so called illicit activities? Not saying they don't go on.

En re " SENIOR Citizen " and " Concerning Circumstances " ; the " occupants " or, more exactly, the " APPROPRIATORS " ( and, NO!!, that is not an exaggeration! ) of the Comfort Station are married as SHE has stated thus. Her name is " JILL "; unsure of his name. They keep their clothing and bedding at the CS and wash their bodies in the restrooms. They both get an Uncle Sam check every month and they have cell phones. So what keeps them from acquiring a dwelling/working?????..... why spend the money/exert the effort when you can live free!?!?!???? They also live at Crystal Beach shelter house and upon the bathhouse porch/deck ( when they can ascend to said height ) in the warmer climes of the year. Calling Mayor Courtney, calling Mayor Courtney!... how about moving them out of there, please? Pass The Peace And Peace Be With You.

Dear Senior Citizen: How do you know they are living as husband and wife? Did they introduce themselves? Did you observe something to indicate this, opposed to it simply being a man and woman that both happen to be squatting there? If they're not married, can we get them a marriage license so they're at least no longer living in sin?! Maybe it is the same two that squat at a riverside shelter house during the warmer months and drive away citizens looking to picnic. Is there video surveillance on and in the Comfort Station? If not, there should be, and it should broadcast live online so these public areas aren't so comfortable to commandeer by squatters for their illicit activities.
I'll never understand why the city spends tax dollars on these public spaces to only allow them to be taken over by squatters. Some tax dollars need to be spent on an appropriate shelter.
I can't tell the difference anymore between someone down on their luck with nowhere else to go and a dangerous drug addict that's about to assault or rob the next citizen or visitor of opportunity.
