The Humane Society is working with Clifty Garden Center to provide the straw. It’s normally only $7.50 per bale anyway but if you can’t afford that it’s $2.50 with a Jefferson County ID. You can sponsor a bale for 7.50 if you want. While it’s going to be very cold tonight and this weekend we will have many dangerously cold nights in the next few months. So straw will remain available. We will track the number who needed help & probably do a program in future years if there is need.

I don’t know what to say about homeless or frozen veterans or no money for heat. Hanover Fire Department has stepped up tonight and tomorrow but it’s not an overnight lodging facility. There’s no place to sleep and no food or showers. if you hear the city or Salvation Army or heaven forbid a church steps forward let me know- I’ll try to help spread the word. The winery will be open- but only 2 downtown staff will be allowed to drive in. All others are given the day off. Staff will drive river road or Main primarily to check the facility security, pipes and of course be sure all three cats are safe and warm. We encourage everyone to stay home. Wine can wait. If you or MJ need anything or you have a reader who needs help - I have numerous 4 wheel drive trucks & plenty of manpower to help in emergency. You have my number. Tami

So here’s the thing about the pool that Crooked Courtney isn’t telling ya. He could only get one company to bid on it and it came in 2 MILLION higher than budgeted so he’s in the process of trying to scam tourism dollars for his downtown pet project all because that’s where he “took his swim lessons when he was kid.” All of this after he said it was going to be 4 million but then low and behold more problems and it went to 5 and then to 6 and now 8. Million. The guys a con artist and a dumbarse. The city’s got so much debt and Bob can’t stop spending. I honestly think Datillos got a decent chance if he’s got some money. He’ll have to get the word out on everything Bobs lying about and that takes time and money.
